2019 SV Raiders Junior High Team
Coaches
Head Coach - Lisa Tyson
I am certainly the product of both of my parents. My dad was in the Navy thus I spent the first 13 years of my life traveling the world. I was born in San Diego, spent three years in Japan and spent much of my youth in Kingsville, TX. By the time I was in the 8th grade, I had been to 13 different schools. While living in Asia, my family traveled to Pakistan, South Korea, and Singapore and to every corner of Japan. I still have an adventurous spirit today and love to travel. I have family in Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Arizona, and Oregon and travel to those places as often as I can. My mother was a teacher for over 40 years. I get my passion for children and education from her. I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember and performed many of my community service hours for high school in my mom’s classroom. In the classroom I am very organized, have a unique sense of humor and a high level of energy. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in English and Elementary Education form Seton Hill College and earned my Master’s as a Reading Specialist from Duquesne University. I am in my 27rd year of teaching, my 17th at Seneca and I love teaching and learning. When I am not teaching, doing school work or coaching, I spend most of my time with my family and friends. I am particularly close with my sister and my niece, Paige, who is 18 and high functioning autistic. She has made me a better person and teacher and I enjoy sharing our experiences together with my students/players. I will also encourage the players to share their life experiences with our team. I began playing softball in my youth and began playing fast pitch in high school. I played in college for Seton Hill and in the summers in the Ellwood City League. I last coached 13 years ago for the Seneca Valley Jr. High Team. I resigned when my mother passed away unexpectedly so I could help with my niece, Paige. Since she is now 18, I jumped at the chance to get back into coaching when Coach Trew asked. Some of my favorite things are coffee, tacos, the beach, dawn, the color green, dolphins, gardening, and reading. Certainly one of my favorite things is coming to work each day.
